KARACHI: On the directives of Federal Finance Minster Ishaq Dar, a 20-member delegation of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) has left for Russia with the aim to increase the export of food items to the country.
TDAP Chief Executive Officer (CEO) SM Muneer led the trade delegation. TDAP, in coordination and assistance from the Embassy of Pakistan in Moscow, has arranged business-to-business (B2B) meetings of the leading exporters of Pakistan with the food and agricultural products’ importers of Russia. The B2B meetings of the Pakistani exporters have been arranged by the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RFCCI) at Moscow, Saint Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SPCCI) and Leningrad Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LRCCI) at Saint Petersburg.
During the visit, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for mutual cooperation would be signed by the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) with LRCCI.
The trade delegation would meet with the Federal Customs Service, Federal Service for Sanitary and Phytosanitary Surveillance and Ministry of Agriculture and Certification Group of the Russian Federation. High-level government meetings, including meeting with the State Duma (Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation) deputies and Centre for International Industries Cooperation (UNIDO). The delegation would also meet with representatives of the Muslim Republics of Bashkortostan and Tatarstan.
Pakistan is also simultaneously participating in World Food Moscow to be held on September 14-17 with 12 companies of agro-food products in Moscow. It is expected that Pakistan’s participation in the event would be beneficial for the local companies.
