SYDNEY: A new special has been launched into the local Jeep range this week, with the introduction of the new Wrangler X Edition.
Limited to 70 units, the Overland-based Wrangler X is available in two- and four-door form and kicks off at $47,000 plus on-roads.
The $4000 premium sees the Wrangler X enhanced with a number of exterior and interior styling tweaks.
2015 jeep wrangler x special edition 01 On the outside, the Overland’s regular 18-inch alloys have been given a gloss black look with a polished lip, and there’s also a Power Dome bonnet design with air vents.
A body-coloured three-piece hardtop also features, along with body-colour finish to the grille and fender flares.
There is a gloss-black finish to the headlamp rings, grille highlights and Mopar fuel filler door round out the colour changes, with Wranger X graphics on the bonnet and rear gate.
Inside, you’ll find black leather and vinyl trimmed seats with mesh black inserts, grey contrast stitching and Wrangler X embroidered logos.
Other interior tweaks include a leather-wrapped steering wheel with blasck accent stitching and white switch bezels, white accented door handles with black bolt heads and white accents to the vent rings. Mopar all-weather floor slush mats are also featured.
Jeep’s 6.5 inch display and UConnect infotainment system is on board, with satellite navigation, reversing camera, 40gb music storage and a DVD player.
As with the Overland model, power in the Wrangler X is provided by Chrysler’s 209kW/347Nm 3.6 litre petrol V6.
Matched to a five-speed auto, the engine lists fuel use at 11.3 l/100km on the combined cycle.
