SYDNEY: Jeep has updated its Wrangler Freedom limited edition model, available now in Australian showrooms and priced from $38,500 plus on-road costs.
The Freedom was also available to Jeep customers at around the same time last year, but the 2015 edition brings with it a $3,500 price-rise, because unlike the 2014 Freedom, which featured a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, the latest edition is only available with a five-speed automatic.
The 2015 version also picks up a standard reversing camera and satellite navigation – two features that weren’t standard fitment last year.
Jeep’s 3.6 litre Pentastar V6 petrol engine is the only powerplant available, producing 209kW of power and 347Nm of torque.
The rest of the features list is a rerun of last year’s model based on the ‘regular’ Wrangler Sport, including Freedom Star decals, high gloss Mineral Grey seven-slot Jeep grille, black side steps and ‘Oscar Mike’ badging on the front fenders which replaces the Sport badges.
Inside, there’s the Uconnect multimedia system with a 6.5-inch touchscreen, Freedom Stars on the front seats, McKinley leather and vinyl highlights and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Both two-door and ‘Unlimited’ four-door models are available, priced from $38,500 and $42,500 plus on-roads respectively.
Those looking to secure a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Freedom might want to move fast, as only 200 will be available in Australia.
