SYDNEY: Mini’s new John Cooper Works hot hatch three door body style will hit Australia in the third quarter of this year with a $47,400 starting price and on sale August this year, the British brand has confirmed.

Mini JCW in Australia (six-speed manual) pricing kicks off at $47,400 plus OTR costs, or $49,950 for the six-speed automatic version. That makes the hot-hatch $3000 cheaper than the model it replace. That also means the John Cooper Works is more affordable than its most likeminded equivalent, the manual-only $49,900 Audi S1.
