2016 Cadillac CTS-V has base price of $84,990, that’s quite handful

SYDNEY: For those who have been searching for a capable challenger to the BMW M5, the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V appears to be your sure bet. Road trials and technical reviews indicate it has what it takes to stand the BMW M5 on its nose.

Every auto geek knows that Cadillac manufactures auto cars that appear to be conservative in designs, but that is not the case with the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V. One way or the other, auto experts believe it is the car to topple the BMW M5 – which had long been regarded a leader in terms of luxury and performance in the sedan category.

The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V has an impressive 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that rocks at 640 horsepower and has a 630 lb/ft torque. Those features appear to be what the Corvette Z06 has in terms of engine and power.

But then the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is bigger than the Corvette and has passed a test of 0-60 mph speed at 3.6 seconds. Meanwhile, the BMW M5 has a 600-horsepower engine and has done 0-60 mph at 3.7 seconds. Sure, the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V has also done quarter-miles at 11.6 second at a top speed that went in excess of 200 mph, indeed impressive for a luxury sedan.

The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V comes with six-piston Brembo brakes in front and four-piston Brembos in the rear, plus Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires and Cadillac’s own Magnetic Ride Control shocks. These appear to be one of the super features of this model; but beyond that, it has four driving modes – Snow, Touring, Sport, and Race – and all these have their own individual settings for the Magnetic Ride Control shocks, transmission, throttle, and traction control.

A word or two however about the observed drawbacks with the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V. Its CUE infotainment system is very difficult to use for many people and not that impressive too, while the car has a smaller interior when compared with the BMW M5.

The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V has a base price of $84,990, and that’s quite a handful.
