LONDON: 2016 Jaguar XF rolled into view by driving across the River Thames in London, England on top of two wires. The car had to cover a distance of 240 metres, while in some areas it was 80 metres above the river.
The 2016 Jaguar XF is slightly shorter and lower than the current model, but has a 51-mm longer wheelbase. That has resulted in more interior space, especially for rear-seat occupants. Speaking of the cockpit, the 2016 XF also gets a new tablet-style infotainment system which features a 10.2-inch screen and a quad-core processor – making it much clearer and faster than their current system.
The new XF is also lighter than the current model, since 75 percent of its architecture is made from aluminum. To give the new XF a near-50/50 weight distribution, the rear structure of the body is made from steel.
Powering the XF will be a wide range of powertrain options, depending on where you live. New gasoline and diesel engines will be offered in 2.0L and 3.0L capacities, although Canada will probably just get the gasoline engines. All 2016 XF versions will be fitted with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, with power going to either the rear wheels or all four wheels.
