21st century need: LCCI for imparting IT training to its members to meet today’s challenges

LAHORE: Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Ijaz A Mumtaz has said that private sector must strive to have sufficient knowledge of information technology to grow business activities in today’s world and announced to continue imparting training to its members.

He said this while addressing the participants of Web Development Training Course with Search Engine Optimisation and 3D MAX & MAYA Skill Course here at LCCI.

Ijaz A Mumtaz said that the chamber considers itself duty bound to arrange computer training courses and language classes for its members to enable them to go global with a faster pace. The LCCI this year would focus on development of research culture in the country and for this purpose it would be strengthening its research team to provide data to various government departments on various issues being faced by the country’s economy.

He said that the LCCI was not only regularising its quarterly research journal Economic Outlook but it would also give solution of business issues. He said that measures were also being taken for the promotion of subject and sector specialists. He also urged the government to focus on IT based knowledge as the maximum utilisation of the human potential is must for success and a necessary ingredient to make Pakistan a developed country.

He said in the knowledge race in the 21st century and rapid globalisation, the quality of information technology based higher education has to be enhanced to bring it at par with international standards for the sake of progress and prosperity.
