JAMRUD: The Khasadar Force has foiled a smuggling bid and recovered large quantity of opium and hashish from a vehicle here at Bagyari checkpoint in Jamrud tehsil.
Assistant Line Officer Khan Zeb said that the on-duty Khassadar personnel stopped a Peshawar-bound pick-up vehicle for routine examination. During the search 24kg opium and two-kg hashish were recovered concealed in the hidden cavities of the vehicle, bearing registration no P-5737, the official said. Two alleged drug pushers, identified as Said Nawaz and Naik Wali, were apprehended and sent to the Jamrud lock-up for investigation, the official confirmed.
