ISLAMABAD: An aircraft carrying 25 metric ton rice Wednesday left for Colombo due to severe drought in Sri Lanka as per Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s directive.
The prime minister had directed to provide all necessary assistance to the government and the affected people of Sri Lanka, a foreign office press release said.
“The Government and the people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with the brotherly people of Sri Lanka in this hour of need and will continue to provide all possible support to them,” it added.
