2,609 farmers registered under kissan package

HAFIZABAD: District Coordination Officer Muhammad Ali Randhawa said on Saturday that 2609 growers had been registered under Chief Minister’s historic Kisan Package worth Rs 100 billion in the district.

Talking to farmers during visit to Land Record Centre Hafizabad, he said that Chief Minister’s Kisan Package was revolutionary steps for improving socio-economic condition of farmers and enhancing per acre agricultural yield in the province.

Under this package, the government would provide agriculture loans of Rs 100 billion to 500,000 small farmers in the province without any mark-up in the province, he added. He said that Rs 25,000 per acre loans would be provided to farmers for ‘Rabi’ season while Rs 40,000 per acre would be given to farmers for ‘Kharif’ season to 500,000 small growers in the province.

He said that special teams were being constituted for visiting village to village to create awareness among growers about Kisan package. Zero tolerances would be shown against those committing negligence and laxity in this connection, he warned.
