As many as 321 alternate plots had been allotted through the first phase of balloting held on 24 January 2015 to those affectees whose plots had been deleted due to re-planning of the scheme.

Balloting for allotting alternate plots to the 2894 affectees was held on Wednesday and 1278 alternate plots were allotted through the second phase of balloting.

Software for this purpose had been developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board which also conducted the balloting in the presence of a number of affectees as well as representatives of media who also participated in the process of balloting.
