KARACHI: All Pakistan CNG Association (Sindh Zone) has accused the Sui Southern Gas Company of violating the agreement and starting the curtailment of gas.
APCNGA (Sindh Zone) held a joint press conference with Karachi Transport Ittehad, CNG Dealers Association and All Karachi Tajir Ittehad to highlight the problems being faced by the stakeholders.
Shabir Suleman Jee, Chairman APCNGA (Sindh Zone), informed that a weak earlier SSGC through a notification announced continuous gas supply on CNG stations but after exactly three days the company announced two days closure and take it back within three hours and announced another notification of three day closure in a week.
The dilemma is that the SSGC forwarded another notification on same date with the announcement of four days closure which shows the negligence of company, he added and said that some hidden forces have their interest in completely shutting down CNG stations in Sindh.
Suleman Jee said captive power plants are using 25 per cent gas of SSGC’s network which is totally against the ruling of Supreme Court and on the other side captive plants are illegally using CNG compressors and storage bouzers, he said and added that it is against the OGRA ordinance and violation of National Gas Theft Act. He announced that with the support of the stakeholders, APCNGA (Sindh Zone) including KTI, CNGDA and AKTI would stage protest and sit-ins across Sindh to highlight the irresponsible attitude of Sui Southern Gas Company. Slueman Jee said as per plan A, the first protest will be held on 29th of December in front of SSGC Hyderabad office and for Plan B they have three choices including Chief Minister House, Governor House or SSGC head office, he said. He added that the date for the action of Plan B will be announced on 29th of December.
