COPENHAGEN: 3 Denmark said it gained 17,000 new customers in the third quarter, giving it a total of 1.27 million. Revenue in the period rose to DKK 713 million from DKK 703 million last year, amid tough competition. Revenue was buoyed by its summer campaign for smartphones and strong start to sales of the new iPhones. Third quarter service revenue was down slightly at DKK 443 million in connection with increased foreign roaming after the RLAH introduction The operating profit before write-downs was DKK 168 million, compared with DKK 171 million a year earlier.
The company said it focused on growth and adding value for customers, including adding Thailand to its 3LikeHome roaming service, cutting queues for customer service, refurbishign many shop branches and offering checks to enqure subscribers are on the most appropriate tarif for them.
The operator said that 60 percent of customers who rang its helpline in September got a response within 15 seconds, and that average qaiting time was 32 seconds. 3 Denmark said that its own figures are likely to differ from those of part-owner Investor AB, which calculates customer numbers differently.
