SANTO DOMINGO: The members of three import associations of new and used vehicles are currently staging a protest in front of Customs Agency headquarters against what they consider high taxes to bring autos into the country.
Members of the Anadive, Asocivu and Adesi associations and several other associations complained that the increase in import taxes hinders sales from the higher costs to buyers.
On Tuesday the presidents of Asocivu, Anadive and Adeci warned of the protests, and asked president Danilo Medina´s intervention on fears of bankruptcies in the sector.
