3 metro bus stations, Rs10m machines, 1 bus destroyed by mob as protest continues

LAHORE: The protesters continued damaging Metro Bus Track on Ferozpur Road from General Hospital to Gaju Mata destroying 3 metro bus stations, Rs10m machines and 1 bus after two days of the attacks on churches in Lahore.

The bus service was also partially suspended due to the protest demonstration by the Christian community at the route. An official said that protesters vandalised three bus stations and destroyed a bus.

The bus station in Youhanabad incurred the worst damage while those of Nishtar Colony and Dhulwa neighbourhoods were partially damaged, he added. The official said that ticket-vending machines worth Rs10 million were also damaged badly by the mob. The service might take another day or two to be resumed completely, he informed.
