TUCSON: Three women were arrested over a two-week period at the Port of San Luis for attempting to smuggle drugs across the border.
A 30-year-old Yuma woman was arrested on July 15 after Customs and Border Protection officers searched her vehicle and found 28 pounds of methamphetamine. The drugs were worth roughly around $85,000.
On July 17, officers apprehended a 19-year-old and a 21-year-old from Pasadena, Calif. after they found 300 pounds of marijuana in their vehicle. The narcotics were valued at $150,000.
The individuals involved were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs. The drugs and vehicles were processed for seizure.
