ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) spokesman has said that the national flag carrier will continue its operations in New Delhi as there is no threat to the PIA there.
He said that the PIA had been maintaining its offices and business in the Indian capital for more than 30 years.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit said that Pakistan had raised the issu of vacation notice to national flag carrier, PIA, by Indian authorities in New Delhi. “Yes, we have taken up the matter with the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and are expecting a meeting in this regard shortly,” the high commissioner told a Pakistan TV news channel.
A report published by The Hindu on Sunday said that the airline had been issued a notice to “dispose of” its offices in New Delhi as the purchase was declared “unauthorised” by the authorities.
