321 properties of tax defaulters sealed, 56 vehicles impounded, 300 challaned

SIALKOT – The Excise and Taxation Department sealed 321 properties of tax defaulters, impounded 56 vehicles and challaned 300 other vehicles during a general hold-up in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad and Gujranwala districts of Gujranwala Division.

The officials added the special teams also challaned 102 vehicles and impounded 14 vehicles for overcharging and plying on roads without their fitness certificates. Meanwhile, police arrested four accused agents from outside the Regional Passport Office Sialkot during a crackdown. Several agents managed to escape by dodging the raiding police team there.

Police recovered several passports, fake medical certificates, stamps and other fake official documents from the arrested agents. Police have sent the accused behind bars after registering cases against them.

Likewise, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested two human traffickers namely Hassan Muhamamd and Sarfraz Ahmed. As per FIA officials, both the accused had already been declared proclaimed offenders and were wanted in several cases of human trafficking. The accused were running illegal business of sending people abroad illegally after extorting big amounts from them. The FIA also recovered several passports, fake visa stamps and fake official documents from them. It sent the accused behind bars and further investigations were underway.
