330MW coal power plants in Thar: Sindh Engro to buy 3.8mt/annum coal

BEIJING: Engro Powergen Thar Limited (EPTL) will enter into an agreement with Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company (SECMC) for the purchase of 3.8 metric tonnes per annum coal for power generation.

Earlier, Engro Powergen Limited (EPL) signed a joint venture agreement with China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) for development of 330MW coal based power plants in Thar Block II.The agreement was signed by EPL CEO Shamsuddin A Shaikh and CMEC President Zhang Chun. The ceremony was witnessed by State Minister of Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi, CPEC Special Envoy Zaffaruddin Mahmood, PPIB MD Shajahan Mirza, and TCEB MD Ejaz Ahmed Khan. The ceremony was also attended by other shareholders, Thal Limited and Habib Bank Limited.
