331 Ramazan Bazaars: Poultry Association vows to ensure availability of subsidised chicken in Punjab

LAHORE: The poultry dealers have vowed to ensure provision of quality product in 331 Ramazan Bazaars across the province.

Pakistan Poultry Association Punjab Zone Chairman Dr Mustafa Kamal said this while talking to the journalists during his visit to Shadman Ramazan Sasta Bazaar. He was accompanied by Ramazan bazaars convener Dr Muneer Ahmed Sahi and PPA Secretary Maj (r) Javaid Bukhari.

Dr Mustafa said that besides provincial government agencies the PPA’s own 40 monitoring teams are continuously on visiting the Ramazan Bazaars to check the true implementation of PPA and Punjab government agreement, under which the Association is supplying stock of chicken and eggs to Ramazan Bazaars at subsidized rates. He said that 7 teams are examining the high standard of chicken in all Ramazan bazaars of Lahore while 33 teams are on the round of rest of Punjab cities to ensure implementation of subsidized rates by the vendors of poultry in makeshift markets of the provincial government.

Dr Mustafa Kamal said that more than 156,283 kg chicken was sold so far at subsidized price in 331 Ramazan bazaars of the province. The PPA is providing subsidy of Rs.15 a kg on chicken and Rs.5 on eggs throughout the province, as compared to the open market.
