ISLAMABAD: Member Administrations and Estate, Amer Ali Ahmed, an operation was carried out against the illegal excavation for cable networking purpose and removed the fiber optic cable following the directions of Capital Development Authority (CDA).
To this effect, Member Administrations and Estate, Amer Ali Ahmed has reiterated a firm action and directed the Directorate of Municipal Administration of CDA to continue the operation against the illegal cable networking across the board in the Islamabad without fear or favour. He said that such illegal excavation work in the capital city not only is causing damage to the infrastructure and is the major cause of pollution but also posing financial loss to the Authority. He said that CDA would not allow its land for any kind of illegal networking of cables, adding that operation against the illegal excavation and networking of cables would carry on. The operation is in continuation to the actions against illegal activities and to bring the fiber optics under the formal system of tax net to increase revenue generation through IT telecom infrastructure potential. In this regard, a special team of telecom unit has been constituted by the CDA director municipal administration, which is taking effective measures against the illegal networking of cables to discourage this practice. Residents of the capital have appreciated the operation against illegal networking of cables and expressed hope that such operation would be extended to the other sectors of the city.
Capital Development Authority (CDA) as part of its campaign against sale of unhygienic, expired and adulterated edibles in the markets of the capital issued 35 notices and challaned 17 people for not maintaining the required standards.
Special teams of the authority have confiscated and destroyed fifteen (15) liters of expired / non-branded ketchup, ten (10) kg of rotten tomatoes and ten (10) liters of non-branded and substandard cooking oil and forty-three (43) dozen of rotten bananas. Moreover, forty (40) cracked / chipped utensils were also confiscated and subsequently destroyed. During the operation, teams of Health Services Directorate have partially sealed one (01) bakery for selling unhygienic and substandard food items.
A food inspector leads each special team of Health Services Directorate and all the teams are working under the supervision of health officer. The authority on daily basis is reviewing their performance.
In the meanwhile, Member Administration and Estate, Amer Ali Ahmed has said that operations against the sale of substandard and unhygienic food items would continue with pace so that availability of healthy food and cold drinks could be ensured. He said that stern action would be taken against the violators of rules and regulations. He further said that the campaign against unhygienic edible items would continue without favour or fear.
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) will organize an International Conference on “Emerging Trends in Engineering and Management” on December 29-30. The conference will be held under the auspices of CDA’s Training Academy in collaboration with the University of Carolina and City University of Sciences (United States) here at Pak China Centre. Talking to APP, CDA director general training academy Sanaullah Aman on Saturday, said around 200 delegates from Pakistan and other countries were expected to attend the conference.
He said eight countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Singapore, Malaysia, and England had confirmed to send their delegates, while some other countries were also likely to participate in the conference. He said that 100 delegates would reach Islamabad tomorrow adding that vice chancellors of different universities of Islamabad and Chairman HEC would also participate in the said conference. CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal was patron of the conference with Prof Atta Ullah chairman and Sanaullah Aman as president. Sanaullah Aman said it was the first time that the training academy would hold an international conference and all arrangements have been completed.
