36,000 new traders submit tax returns in 2 months of FY-2015-16

ISLAMABAD: At least 36,000 new traders and businessmen have submitted their income tax returns from July 1, 2015 to September 10, 2015 and are added to the list of taxpayers.

According to sources, as the FBR has imposed withholding tax on banking transactions and some trade unions and business community are protesting against it but on the other hand around 36,000 traders and businessmen filed their tax returns in just two months of the current fiscal year. It is pertinent to mention here that the FBR has withdrawn 0.3 percent withholding tax on these new tax filers.

Sources further added that around 1200 employees of grade 16 of the FBR have yet not submitted their income tax returns. The FBR has also suspended their performance allowance till the submission of their tax returns.
