375 acres land allocated for industrial estate

BAHAWALPUR: The Punjab government has allocated 375 acres of land for industrial estate in the area of Aghapur of Bahawalpur and approval of 125 acres additional land is underway.

Minister of State for Education Interior Engineer Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman told media that Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif had announced the Industrial Estate on his visit to Bahawalpur earlier this year.

He said that new Education Policy will come into operation from next year and consultation from provinces is underway for National Curriculum. He said that government is striving to improve standards of education and increase recruitment at schools level. He said that number of admission in universities has increased during last couple of years due to student friendly schemes of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif including Fee Reimbursement Scheme and National Laptop Scheme.

Budget for higher education has been doubled by the federal government and provincial governments are also urged to spend more on education sector, he added.
