HONG KONG: Suspected 3 kilograms of ketamine drug was found and seized by Hong Kong Customs during an anti-narcotics operation in Yuen Long. The drugs were worth about $396, 000. The customs officers intercepted a man in Yuen Long around noon today and found the suspected ketamine in his backpack.
The man, aged 17, was arrested at the scene. He claimed to be unemployed and was charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug. The arrestee will appear at the Tuen Mun Magistrates’ Courts tomorrow (January 21).
Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, drug trafficking is a serious offense. The maximum penalty is life imprisonment and a fine of $5 million.
