LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Agriculture Dr Farrukh Javed has inaugurated a two-day agriculture exhibition titled ‘Sarsabz Agriculture Expo 2015’, which has been arranged for the last three years at Expo Centre.
United States Counsel General Zachary Harkenrider, State Bank of Pakistan’s representative, chief of Fatima Group Zahir and Agriculture Extension DG Dr Anjum Ali witnessed the inaugural ceremony of the exhibition, which is the largest agriculture exposition of the country.
Dr Farrukh Javed said, “We need to adjust our agricultural practices with rapidly changing global climate” adding that the Punjab government has achieved all its agricultural production targets this year.
The minister said that the Chief Minister Green Road Project will help farmers establish a link with markets and cities easily. He added that an amount of Rs15 billion is being allocated to the project this year and “we will spend Rs50 billion on the said project next year”. He said that the government was trying to reduce input cost of farmers so that our agriculture sector could grow.
