4.83 million BISP beneficiaries receive Rs43 billion in FY 2014-15

ISLAMABAD: About 4.83 million beneficiaries of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) have received Rs43 billion during the first half of ongoing financial year.

According to BISP official, under the programme Rs20.7 billion were issued in the first quarter for 4.6 million people while in the second quarter Rs21.3 billion were issued for 4.7 million beneficiaries.

He said under Waseela-e-Taleem programme the payments were issued on calendar year basis and during last year Rs13.2 million were issued to 2200 children in the first quarter of January to March. In the second quarters from April to June Rs22.74 million were issued among 3800 children and in the third quarter from July to September, Rs20.5 million were distributed among 34000 children.
