DELHI: Delhi Police arrested six accused persons, including four Customs clearing agents, in connection with 36,000 memory cards worth Rs 40 lakh, stolen from the cargo hub at IGI Airport in New Delhi on Friday.
Six men, including four Customs clearance agents, have been arrested for allegedly stealing 36,000 memory cards worth about Rs 40 lakh from the cargo hub of Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, the police said today.
The accused have been identified as Sanjeev (28), Devender Kumar (32), Ankur Malik (22), Anuj Tomar (27), who worked as Customs clearance agents at the airport and Vijay Tomar (22) and Hans Jain (31).
On October 29, the police had received a letter from a Delhi-based logistics company in connection with the theft of the 8GB memory cards from a shipment which arrived from Hong Kong, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI Airport), Dinesh Kumar Gupta.
The accused were apprehended on Thursday when they went to Gaffar Market at Karol Bagh, central Delhi to sell the memory cards.
