Faisalabad ASO seizes smuggled items worth Rs 11.9m in March

FAISALABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has seized smuggled items amounting to Rs 11.9 million during March and registered cases against smugglers.

Sources told Customs Today,Deputy Collector Rana Falik Shair seized smuggled goods which include non duty paid tampered vehicles used for smuggling of goods, Indian tea, tyres tube, smuggled cloth and other miscellaneous items.

Sources said that during various anti-smuggling campaigns ASO team recovered these smuggled items. The ASO team asked accused persons to produce legal documents regarding possession of these items but they failed to provide any relevant documents in this regard.

Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary hailed to performance of ASO and directed them to work more devotedly to curb smuggling.
