HAYWARD: Skywest Golf Course will be the scene of one of the area’s longest-running sporting events on June 1 when it hosts the Hayward Chamber of Commerce’s 42nd Annual Golf Tournament.
Chamber President Kim Huggett described this year’s event as “a low key, no-pressure, focus-on-fun tournament. And even if you don’t play golf, there are a variety of ways to get involved as a tee or corporate sponsor.”
Individual chamber members and nonmembers can play the 6,700-yard course as tournament participants for $150, including green fees, tee gifts, cart, lunch, dinner, a goodie bag of prizes, and an opportunity to participate in silent and live auctions. A foursome is $550. Many teams register for the corporate challenge for $900, which includes an on-course table-top exhibit, tee sponsorship, and a chance to win the perpetual trophy. Tee sponsorship’s are available for $200.
