4500MW Diamer-Bhasha Dam: Govt to buy 18,300 acres land, pay Rs49b to affectees

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to purchase over 18300 acres of land for the construction of 4500MW Diamer-Bhasha Dam project and pay Rs49 billion to the affectees against land compensation within the next six months, reported Radio Pakistan.

According to the report, the government has already purchased over 3000 kanal land from three villages in Chilas and also paid compensation to the owners. Three model villages are also being set up at Chilas to provide one kanal land to each affected person free of cost.
