$46 billion Chinese investment to develop Pakistan economically: Economist

ISLAMABAD: Economic expert Dr. Shahid Hassan Siddiqui said that the smooth implementation of ongoing projects and their early completion was very important to ensure prosperity in the region.

Speaking in Radio Pakistan’s News and Current Affairs Channel Programme, he said that the investment from China in Pakistan was a game changer in the region and there was a need to complete work in a designated manner to give full and extensive relief to people.

Commenting on implementation of ongoing projects, senior journalist Irshad Ansari said public sector has its own funds which were being used for the development projects.

He said the present government was focusing on the transparent allocation and utilization of these funds.

Speaking in another programme economic expert, Dr. Tauseef Akhtar said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor was a huge project which would act as game changer for Pakistan.

Pakistan will get many tangible benefits with the completion of this project, he added.
