46-year-old man charged in connection with seizure of Pentedrone drug worth €20,000

DUBLIN: A 46-year-old man has been charged in connection with the seizure of a controlled substance.

The man is due to appear before a special sitting of Carlow District Court.

The seizure was made following the planned search of a premises at Graiguecullen, County Carlow on Thursday 9th April 2015.

The man was arrested and detained at Carlow Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

Gardai seized Pentedrone, a controlled substance, with an estimated value of €20,000 following the planned search of a premises in Graiguecullen, County Carlow on Thursday at around 11am.

Gardaí from the Carlow District Detective and Drugs Units, assisted by the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and officers from Revenue and Customs Services were involved in the intelligence-led operation into the illegal sale and supply of controlled drugs.

A firearm, believed to be taken in the course of a burglary, and ammunition were also recovered during the search
