BALRAMPUR: Sashastra Seema Bal jawans today arrested a 45-year-old man and recovered 5.5 kg charas worth Rs 55 lakh, from near pillar number 572 on Indo-Nepal border here, an official said.
During routine checking, the SSB jawans caught the person, identified as Paras, a resident of Siddharthnagar district, hiding near the pillar number 572, SSB Commandant D B Sonar said.
On checking, 5.5 kg of contraband, worth Rs 55 lakh, was found in his bag which was then seized, he said. The arrested person was handed over to Pachperwa police here, the Commandant said.
