KARACHI: As many as 55 cases have been pending before the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-II for the last couple of weeks. And, it is said that the cases would soon be disposed of.
The sources told Customs Today that at least 55 cases of tax evasion involving billions of rupees are pending before the Adjudication-II Collectorate. Collector Adjudication-II has sped up the proceeding of the cases and it is hoped that these would shortly be disposed of, sources added.
The cases pending included gold smuggling case, Pakistan Telecommunication Limited PTCL, Warid Telecom, Q-Mobile, etc.
According to sources, the major reasons behind the pendency include remanding back of cases for re-adjudication by the Appellate Tribunal, extension sought by the involved parties, reconciliation of data and investigation.
