Quetta Customs seizes 630kg hashish worth Rs31.5m

QUETTA: A Customs Collectorate team has seized 630-kilogram of hashish from a 10-wheeler Hino truck coming from border area of Chaman to inside the country at the Baleli Check Post.

Collector Ashraf Ali told Customs Today that customs team intercepted Hino truck and recovered over 15.75 maunds of hashish (630 kg) from the truck.

The drugs were concealed in the specially designed cavities made in the floor of truck bearing registration no: TAE-718 (Labella) each packet contains 1,000 grams of foreign-origin having mark (Eid Mubarak 2018). The market value of the said drugs is Rs31.5 million.

The driver managed to escape from the scene taking advantage of heavy road traffic. Collector Ashraf appreciated the role of anti-smuggling wing leaded by Additional Collector Zubair Shah, Deputy Collector Maqbool Baloch, Superintendent Maqsood Durrani, Inspector Muhammad Shabbir Khan, Myhammad Saleem Shah, Qurban Hussain, Abdul Ghafoor and Ishaq George.  Truck was confiscated and shifted to Customs Headquarters.
