KARACHI: Central leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari and his sister, Faryal Talpur and Zardari Group approached the Sindh High Court (SHC) against notice issued by Inland Revenue Department, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) seeking details of agriculture land’s taxes.

On August 6, 2019, senior advocate, Barrister, Khalid Javad Khan filed a petition for Faryal Talpur and Zardari Group and argued that his clients have a piece of agriculture land in Nawab Shah which is disputed and matter is pending before the Sindh High Court between families of Zardari.

He further argued that however, officials of the FBR issued notices to petitioners and sought complete details of owners of said disputed land and taxes, he submitted that until final decision of Sindh High Court regarding ownership of said disputed land, FBR’s officials have no legal authority to issue notice to his clients.

Citing chairman Federal Board of Revenue and others as respondents, counsel pleaded the court to declare that act of the respondents as illegal, mala fide and arbitrary.

Khalid Javad Khan also pleaded the court may suspend operation of said notice and pass interim order and restrain them from taking any coercive action against the petitioner till final order in this petition.
