66% wheat sowing target achieved

MUZAFFARGARH: The Punjab Agriculture Department has announced that about 66 per cent wheat sowing target has been achieved as 487,000 acre land has been brought under wheat cultivation so far.

Farmers are still busy in sowing activity to achieve a target of 740,000 acre preferably till Dec 15 in the district. District officer agriculture extension Mahr Abid Hussain told a delegation of farmers on Saturday that their performance was better this year as they brought 487,000 acre land under wheat cultivation. He said training of farmers would continue in different parts of the district to enable them get the maximum yield.
