680 bottles of imported liquor seized

ISLAMABAD: National Highway and Motorway Police (NH&MP) have seized 680 bottles of liquor and handed over four accused persons and recovered liquor to local police for further legal proceedings.

According to details, during routine checking by Motorway Police officers IP/SPO Muhammad Nawaz and IP/SPO Aijaz Bajwa, signaled a Honda Car bearing No LED-3813 to stop. But the driver accelerated the speed.

Motorway Police officers pursued the suspected car and stopped the vehicle at location PS Amonabad. Four persons were boarded in the vehicle. 680 bottles of imported liquor were recovered during vehicle’s search. The suspects had disguised themselves as family members, said a press release.

The officers of National Highways and Motorway Police handed over the suspects and recovered bottles of liquor to the local police for further legal proceedings.

Inspector General National Highways and Motorway, DIG N-5 North Zone Ahmed Mukhtar and SSP North-III Farukh Rasheed appreciated and rewarded the concerned police officers on their good work.
