ISLAMABAD: The agricultural scientists are expecting record wheat crop this year, which they claim to surpass 26 million tonnes target.
National Coordinator for Wheat, Dr Atiq-ur-Rehman Rattu, after visiting wheat crops Sindh, said that there are several places in the province where 70 to 80 maund per acre wheat has been produced.
He said that the favourable weather conditions and newly-introduced seed varieties has helped farmers to achieve the bumper wheat crop despite the fact that there had been no increase in the area under cultivation.
