78 Japanese Cos doing business in Pak: Govt should resolve law & order issues to attract investors, says envoy

QUETTA: A peaceful Balochistan can attract more foreign investment, said Japan’s Consul General in Karachi, Akira Oachi.

Oachi, while addressing the businessmen at the Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI), said that projects like gold, copper and zinc grab investment if secure environment is provided in the province.

“Pakistan enjoys a great geographical position as it is close to Middle East and it is also one of the biggest markets of South Asia,” he said.

In order to attract foreign investment, the government must try to resolve issues like law and order, power load-shedding and infrastructure, he added.

He said that 78 Japanese companies have been doing business in Pakistan in different sectors including automobiles, motorcycle industry, steel, pharmacy and others.
