LAHORE: As many as 781 contract employees of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) have been regularised, while 155 low grade officials have also been promoted.
The LDA Governing Body, under the chairmanship of Vice Chairman Kh Ahmad Hassan, regularised the services of 781 contract employees of the Wasa and Tepa.
The meeting also decided to construct a 2.1-kilometre long and 180-feet wide road from Gajju Matta to Kahna Katcha with the cost of Rs1013.30 million for easy access to the newly-launched housing scheme, LDA City.
The meeting decided for linking the scheme from its northern side along Hydyara drain with Defence Road through the flyover being built at Katch Railway Crossing on Defence Road. For extending the right of the way to Hydyara drain to cater for the future traffic increase, the LDA will incur an expenditure of Rs809.38 million on the acquisition of land as well as removal, relocation or diversion of utilities services while cost of the building of flyover will be borne by the private partner.
MPAs including Bao Muhammad Akhtar from Lahore, Yaqoob Nadeem Sethi from Kasur and Rana Muhammad Arshad from Nankan Sahib, LDA Director General Ahad Khan Cheema, Wasa Managing Director Ch Naseer Ahmad, Additional Director General (HQ) LDA Amina Munir, Additional Director General (Housing ) LDA Ammara Khan, Chief Engineer TEPA Saif-ur-Rehman, Chief Engineer Asrar Saeed, Chief Metropolitan Planner Waheed Ahmad Butt, Chief Town Planner Ch Muhammad Akram and representatives of provincial Local Government, Housing, P&D, and FINANCE Departments were also present in the meeting.
