LAHORE: Like other parts of  the country, raids are also being conducted in Multan against smuggled and local illegal cigarettes’ sellers.
Recently, FBR’s Customs Intelligence department led by Deputy Collector Tasawwar Hussain conducted sudden raids at Gulshan Market, Qazzafi Chowk and Khanewal Road Multan and recovered 790 cartons of smuggled and local illegal cigarettes from some shops in the market.
The confiscated cigarettes include Pine, Marble, Raison, Milano, Mond, Highlight and other cigarettes. The raids caused panic among smuggled and local illegal cigarette sellers and they escaped from the spot.
The raiding team warned the shopkeepers that noose would be tightened around smuggled and local illegal cigarette sellers and those inflicting billions of rupees losses on national kitty with tax evasion would not be spared at any cost.
