RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government is going to reopen Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) from April 1, 2015 in throughout the province.
Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) General Manager Muhammad Zahoor has also confirmed the smooth supply of gas to all CNG stations from the first of next month, saying that weather has turned pleasant, therefore, they have decided to start CNG supply again.
All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) Supreme Council Chairman Ghayas Abdullah Piracha has appreciated the reopening of CNG stations.
As per the statistics, the country has 3.5 million private vehicles running on CNG, more than 80 per cent of the vehicles in the country. But Pakistan’s gas infrastructure can’t support this demand of the CNG stations, vehicles, domestic usage, power plants, textile and fertilizer companies as they heavily rely on this fuel.
