9.85pc growth shown by cement industry

LAHORE: The rate of cement industry has shown a growth of 9.85 percent in local scale but on the other hand, it has also shown a decline of 8.13 percent in export scale during the first quarter of current fiscal year.

Moreover, it is comfortable that the overall situation during the first quarter revealed 4.68 percent growth when compared with same period of last fiscal year. The statistics, provided by All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association, uncovered that the cement dispatched to domestic markets during the month of September were 2.42 million-ton as compared with 2.12 million-ton during same month last year showing an increase of 13.86 percent. Exports during September 14 were 730,000 tons against 816,000 tons during September, 13 showing decline of 10.6 percent. Total dispatches during September, 14 were 3.15 million-ton comparing with to 2.94 million-ton during same month last year showing an increment of 7.08 percent.
