ASO seizes 138 smart phones at Lahore Airport

LAHORE: Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) Lahore Preventive has seized 138 used mobile from a passenger coming from Dubai to Lahore at the Allama Iqbal International Airport. Official sources said that the Customs officials on suspicion stopped Muhammad Zaman Arif using green channel and upon search 138 used mobile including HTC, iphone, Samsung, LG and others were recovered.

The sources said that the accused could not produced required documents and consequently was held by the Customs authorities on duty. The accused purchased the used mobiles from Hong Kong and he is not identified as professional, the Customs authorities elaborated adding that this was his first attempt to smuggle the used mobile and was caught.

The sources informed that the total value of the mobile was estimated at Rs 1.8 million. The Customs authorities arrested the accused and registered FIR. The Special Judge Customs sent the accused on two day remand for further investigations and then finally sent him to the judicial custody.
