Swedish ambassador, Punjab CM discuss steps to enhance trade ties

LAHORE: Ambassador of Sweden Tomas Rosander on Tuesday called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and stressed the need for enhancing trade ties between the two countries. Both the leaders also discussed matters of mutual interest and promotion of bilateral cooperation.

Talking to the Swedish Ambassador, the Chief Minister said that Pakistan and Sweden have friendly relations and there is a need for promotion of economic cooperation between the two countries. He said that cooperation of Sweden in transport and other sectors will be welcomed. Shahbaz Sharif said that use of modern technology in transport sector is the need of hour and it is essential to work on a coordinated program for the fitness of vehicles and training of drivers so that accidents could be avoided. The Swedish Ambassador said that Sweden wants to promote cooperation with Punjab government in transport sector. Provincial Minister for Finance Mujtaba Shuja ur Rehman, Chairman Lahore Transport Company Kh. Ahmed Hasaan, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretaries of Finance and Transport departments as well as concerned officials were present on the occasion.
