LAHORE: Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has started a campaign on daily basis in Lahore and other parts of the province against the owners of vehicles who have failed to pay token tax.
The department has arranged special teams to check vehicles that have not deposited token tax, especially vehicles which are not registered. Motor Branch Director Sohail Arshad has formed special teams to check defaulter vehicles on roads. These teams are working in different areas of Lahore by establishing checkpoints especially on exit and entrance of the city.
Excise Motor Branch has seized documents of 100 defaulter vehicles in different areas on special checkpoints of Excise. Various people after seizure of documents and national identity cards paid taxes and got their documents back.
Excise teams seized documents during checking of vehicles at Match Factory Chungi GT Road, Jail road, Ferozpur road, Model Town, Multan Road, Raiwind Road, Ravi road, Faisal Town, Shahdra toll plaza and Sagian road.
