Region-B of Excise Dept collects Rs 1.45 billion taxes: Director Akram Ashraf Gondal

LAHORE: The Region- B of the Excise and Taxation Department is leading the other sections of the department by collecting Rs 1.45 billion taxes.

Excise and Taxation Director Region-B Akram Ashraf Gondal said that the department has collected 82 percent of the target in first seven months. Region-B is expecting more revenue than the target given for the fiscal year of 2014-15.

During first seven months of the year the department collected Rs 1.45 billion. Region-B has collected Rs 1.359 million property tax, Rs 39.6 million farm house tax and Rs 34.7 million luxury tax.

Region-B has more property tax units in Lahore. The Luxury tax is challenged in the Lahore High Court and more than 80 stay orders are against this tax.
