Committee formed for Lahore Shopping Festival

LAHORE: Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has constituted an 11-member high-powered Coordination Committee for Lahore Shopping Festival 2013.

According to a notification issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, the committee comprising MNA Pervaiz Malik, LCCI President Farooq Iftikhar, Senior Vice President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, DCO Lahore, Provincial Home Secretary, Secretary Industries, Secretary Information, Secretary Excise and Taxation, Chief Traffic Officer, DIG (Operations) and Director General Punjab Horticulture Authority would have regular meetings to make the event a big success.

The Committee is required to meet immediately, discuss modalities and support required from the Punjab Government by the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the notification said.

The committee has further been directed to forward a report to the Chief Minister’s Office once the arrangements for the Lahore Shopping Festival-2013 are finalized.

The Lahore Shopping Festival is an annual event of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry and had been designed to expedite economic and commercial activities.
