ICCI, local traders vow to work together

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Traders Welfare Association from I-8 Markaz, Islamabad led by its President Yasir Jamil Abbasi visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry to exchange views of matters of mutual interests.

Addressing the delegation, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry Senior Vice President Khalid Chaudhry said that ICCI is lobbying strongly for enactment of a balanced rent control act in Islamabad to curb the rising trend of rent disputes, which are disturbing the peace of the city. He said ICCI has approached Asad Umar, MNA from Islamabad and Mian Abdul Manan MNA from Faisalabad and both have assured to present the amended bill of rent control act in National Assembly. Hopefully the bill will be presented in the next session of National Assembly.

Khalid Chaudhry said the trade license process will now be applicable only on those for whom the vaccination is compulsory. He assured the delegation of I-8 Markaz that ICCI would continue to work for the welfare of business community and traders should further strengthen the hands of ICCI by getting its maximum membership so that it could work for their cause more effectively.

Speaking at the occasion, I-8 Markaz Traders Welfare Association President Yasir Jamil Abbasi said ICCI is the best platform to highlight the issues of local business community and asked traders to further cooperate with ICCI by enhancing its membership base which will help in resolving their problems.

Former Presidents ICCI Zahid Maqbool and Baser Daud, Secretary General Traders Welfare Association I-8 Markaz Abdul Cheema, Tauseef Zaman, Khalid Mian, Sheikh Shaukat and many other business leaders also spoke on the occasion and stressed for the need of developing further unity in business community for redressing their issues.
